Okay, for the Lost fans on my flist who are also religious, I have some questions about stuff that I didn't understand due to my being Jewish and knowing next to nothing about the new testament...
Baptism. Guarantees you into heaven? Island = purgatory? Not everyone on the island has been baptized I'm sure. How important is baptism? Where did it come from? I need the history about it? Age doesn't matter for baptism?
John Paul or whoever the dude was that they were talking about. Who is he? What did he do? I need some history.
Importance of water to Christianity? Fire? I was getting a lot of rebirth and cleansing by fire themes. Lots of darkness and light images. Very Faustian, eh?
Major question? I think I sorta recognized Charlie's mum and Claire in that weird dream scene as part of a painting? Who were they? Mary and Mary? What's the painting about? Who painted it? Why is it important to Catholics? Who was Hurley supposed to be when he stumbled onto the scene. The dove flying out? I remember them talking about it but I can't for the life of me remember what it meant. All I could think of dove = peace like with Noah but I'm sure that wasn't what it was about.
Is there any other major religous refs that I missed? Anything else important?
I hate Locke even more now btw.
