Oh, hello.

Are you still here?  It's been a while.

Like I said, in my last video, I'll see you in icecrown.  Well, we're here, finally.  It's amazing how quickly I've adjusted to the faster pace of WoW updates--we've been chomping at the bit for a "whole" 2 months since 3.3 landed.  In FFXI, this much content would have been an entire expansion years later.

I don't play any MMOs any more! A Real Job and plenty of other activities means I have a pretty full life as it is atm - in fact I hardly play any games really lol :) I am a regular in spam on bg though so I still keep up with some of those people :)

ETA: I'm glad you're having fun on WOW, but what happened to that game you were making? :O

Ah yes, how is your stay in Europa doing? Survive the harsh winter, I hope :P

As for my personal game, well...I quit my job in Calif and moved back to Canada and got different, better job. So I've been busy!

:| Did they ever figure out how to down AV? The community must be slowly dwindling, especially now with FFIV-online coming.

i dont remember you for being a crazy, bad ass monk, but i remember you for being brutally honest to low minded people and pwning their stupidity lol.
if it wasnt for you and LW, a lot of people woulndt have been sporting as much salvage gear as they had received earlier in the game

Yea Salvage was truly my biggest triumph in that game. I had a chance to really be on the cutting edge of content, and we did pretty well with it! From our salvage crew, Wafik and Vistani both play WoW now.

It's interesting to look back and compare how different the approach was from the dev teams for WoW and FFXI when developing this raid-style content. I must say that the FFXI raid content was much more demanding, and much more stingy at the same time. I tell people in WoW that "once upon a time in FFXI" we ran a 2-hour raid 200 times in a year and ended up with less than 100 pieces of loot to show for our efforts...and we were among the best.

Man, if only I could have our whole salvage team for some WoW 10-man raiding...Wottles, Perg, Preet, Amas, Demon, Kuro (apologies to the occasionals and anyone I forgot!!)...we'd rip shit up hardcore.

I'm in WoW.

As a side note, you haven't mentioned FFXIV, what are your thoughts/plans on it? Will nostalgia, hope and chocobos draw you away from WoW?

Not moving to FFXIV :| I really don't have faith in SE not to fuck shit up royal again.

What server/class are you playing? Raiding? PvP? Or just casual?

Yeah, I hear you no that. The only way I'm going to give FFXIV a try is if I get into the beta and can experience the game myself. I'm not sure you can really trust anyone else early on because for new MMO's everyone thinks the game is amazing and the best thing ever...until two months later, hah ( ... )

I certainly remember you in-game and from your posts on KI and BG. It's funny, even though I was playing MNK avidly back then on Asura and upgraded Spharai, I don't think we ever really interacted at all.

Still, time's passed on and I still play FFXI, though I haven't updated my journal in over a year. My MNK gear is pretty upto date with full usukane and most top-end r/x and money items, yet I still find myself comparing to what you had before you stopped playing, lol

Yeah I saw you got Spharai a bit after when I was quitting (someone pointed me to your LJ at one point...you were the Chroma sponsor I think?), belated grats on that! And also grats on escaping the LM17s a few years back that took away so many relics :P you must be among the best remaining.

It's sad that "full usukane" is still relevant gear, and that if I reactivated my account I'd still be competitive gear-wise :( but hopefully in XIV SE learns/steals a thing or two from WoW and other MMOs about gear progression.
