I have a new nephew! My big sis Tara gave birth to a beautiful bouncing boy ... um, not sure of the date exactly because of the time difference, but it was Wednesday my time! Hm. Should find that out...
I'm always surprised by people who wait until they meet the baby to name him. Mostly because I become obsessive and want to discuss nothing but names until the husband and I have settled on something, which means my babies have names months before they make their debut. Not that waiting to name is wrong or weird, just different enough from my own method that I go "...huh."
Mum and tot are doing well and that's about all I know (it really sucks living an ocean away). There might not be much more to know at this point. They're usually both pretty sleepy the first few days. Birth is hard work for both of them!
Isn't he wonderful! I have an update for you - Felix William Anatol Howe (I think that's right!) born 8th July just before 6pm. Weighs 6.5 pounds or about 2.9 kilos, so quite a little man in the end. They reckon he didn't put on any weight in the last 2 weeks, the placenta had all but expired by the time they got him out. He was a caesar in the end too, Tara just wouldn't dilate and the inducement didn't seem to be working.
We're going to Latrobe this arvo so I'll pass on some big hugs!
