Thank you everyone for your lovely - and rousing! - words of encouragement and support in regards to my recent silly blogging woes, I really appreciate it, you really enabled me to shrug it off. :D

It takes a while to get into it, but I recommend sticking with it because it is an excellent novel - not one I picture myself ever re-reading though, but if you can slog through the first half it really picks up and gets hard to put down later.
I'm so glad you liked Alice in Wonderland; it would have been so sad if you hadn't! And those illustrations by Ingpen are beautiful. There are a whole series of them--I've got Peter Pan and Wendy.
Also, I love love love your BFG review! I think if I were to pick up one of Dahl's books again I'd feel exactly the same way. (I never know where to comment--there or here?)
I'm glad I liked it too! I'm hoping Ingpen does Through the Looking Glass too... :)
Thanks Kelly! Once you love Dahl, you always love Dahl! ;) (You can comment on the review - you don't have to link to your LJ or anything if you don't want to.)
Ah Leon, what a silly boy. I think he'll always have a lip problem; at least, he's had it for the last couple of years. It doesn't seem to bother him though. It's probably a kind of herpes, and breaks into a sore now and then. Not pretty, but if it doesn't hurt him... *shrug*
Nine in one year?! You must be very busy!! (Sorry but I'm so behind in LJ I don't know what's happening with my friends' lives these days! sad yes - but there really is only so much time isn't there?)

What do you think of Captain Corelli's Mandolin? I never could finish that myself.
