Plant some salad leaves, as you can pick them as they grow.

And if you have the room, plum, pear and apple trees.

Shall I send you all the seeds I have 'left over'. There are always too many in a packet. They include some summer squash, pumpkins, various herbs ans some salad veg. Interested?

That would be great, although I haven't grown anything from seed before. The lettuces I've planted are small ones like bedding plants, and the artichakes are tubers.

Do you just put them in compost in a margarine tub until you have little plants, and then pop them in the ground?
