If it's any consolation both my Dad and my brother didn't make it as far as you did and both had to be sedated before they could do the scan.

I've never had one but I'm not certain how I'd manage either.

Here's hoping the results are positive!

Thats 'positive' in a positive way not 'positive' in a negative way - if you know what I mean *chuckle*

The lady said at least half of her subjects have problems, and at least 2 a day don't end up going through with it, o I think it's a common problem.

I have done in the past, and it's always been very useful. I used it to have a tooth removed when the anaestetic wouldn't take.

I think it was just that I assumed I'd be fine, and so wasn't prepared for the level of enclosure. If I have to do it again, I'll try it.

Well done in going through with it. It's a really horrible experience that loads of people have trouble with. You did really well to go back.

*Aware of just how patronising all that sounds, but I'm guessing you'll know how I mean it.*

Understood, and not offended in any way!

I just don't quite understand what freaked me out. It's not like it hurts or is any way uncomfortable. The second attempt was fine.

Congratulations on getting through it. My dad had to be sedated for his, I've no idea how I'll manage if I have to go through one.

It's such a bizarre thing - and something it appears that so many people have difficulties with, despite the fact that it was possibly the least invasive and uncomfortable medical test I've ever had. Compared to a biopsy, a blood test, smears, any of the above, it's a lot less physically unpleasant, so why do most people (including myself) struggle with it so much?

Aren't you supposed to me at the Moot?
