My Dad came out with a wonderful expression.

"Politics is a latin word - from 'Poly', meaning 'many' or 'numerous' and 'tics' - blood-sucking parasites." From a vicar, that's pretty strong.

I'm passing my finding on to another couple of the committee, for them to iron out any errors I may have made. If it's as it looks, then I'm making a complaint to the police. Making a false instrument to obtain a pecuniary advantage (ie his expenses claim forms) is an offence under the Theft Act 1978.

I carry no flag for Labour, but it seems a strange response to put your weight behind one party because the representative of the one in situ abused power. God only knows* there's been abuses on all sides. It's not the parties, it's the people. And the system they've been allowed to put in place in their own interest. Power tends to do that.

*Or would, if he existed.

I guess that's why I've put my weight behind the current candidate. He's the only one capable of unseating the current cretin, plus he's been an excellent city councillor for us these past 4 years, and has never claimed a penny in expenses during that time ( ... )
