Gender: Female
Age: 24
Time Period: ca. August 1997 - early part of DH, Tonks is recently married to Remus and not yet pregnant with Teddy.
Wing Color: Bubblegum pink.
History:
HP WikiPersonality: She seems a pretty straightforward person, at first. And generally, she is. Tonks comes across as lively, outgoing, cheerful and a bit bumbling. She was an only child raised by doting parents who also have a lot of common sense, so she was protected and happy and instilled with high ideals from a very early age. She was born in the midst of the first war against Voldemort, and she knew some loss, but her childhood was largely unmarred by tragedy, and frankly she was a bit spoiled, so she’s used to getting what she wants, even if it takes a while and requires some effort on her part.
Tonks was sorted into Hufflepuff at Hogwarts, and she truly embodies the best qualities of that House - she’s an incredibly kind and loving person, and a very hard worker who always finds a way to achieve her goals (basically, she‘s really, really stubborn). She knew from about the age of five that she wanted to be an Auror when she grew up, and she never lost sight of that goal throughout her time at school, no matter how much trouble she got into (and she got into her fair share of it). She’s very bright, though she’s disinclined towards book learning, preferring physical tasks and action in general.
She’s a pretty happy person, generally, but her naiveté is such that, when really bad things do happen, or if she gets really stressed out, she can potentially become depressed and she has even temporarily lost her Metamorphmagus abilities in the recent past because of this.
Strengths: She’s an Auror, one of the elite Dark Wizard catchers - Aurors go through a very rigorous 3-year training program after finishing their NEWT-level exams at Hogwarts, and this means Tonks is tough, physically, mentally and emotionally. She’s skilled at dueling, and she has a clever mind that is very quick off the mark - she’s really good at thinking on her feet, so to speak. Her particular “talent” if one can call something she was born with a talent, is the fact that she is a Metamorphmagus - she has the ability to change her appearance at will, without having to resort to charms or potions to disguise herself. She is unwaveringly loyal to her friends, family and assorted loved ones, and her optimism will not allow her to even consider the possibility that she is on the wrong side, or that they will lose. The good guys always win, and Tonks will make sure of it.
Weaknesses: Her most obvious physical weakness is her clumsiness. She knows how to duel, but she’s young, relatively inexperienced and has a tendency to trip over herself, as she learned to her cost at the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, while dueling Bellatrix Lestrange.
Emotionally, while her optimism is, for the most part, a strength much in her favor, when things go really wrong she has a tendency to become very stressed out. She is stubborn and strong-willed, sometimes to a fault, and very opinionated, occasionally speaking out of turn. Her youth makes her somewhat inexperienced, though in general she’s seen more bad things than most people her age usually would, and she has an overconfident streak that, while not as pronounced as her cousin Sirius’s, sometimes leads to her thinking herself invincible, or at least better than she actually is.
She can be a bit overwhelming in her enthusiasm and energy at times. She’s like a whirlwind; catching up pretty much everyone around her and leaving them feeling a bit dazed and breathless in her wake. She never learned how to take no for an answer.
To top it all off, in Luceti it will be significantly more difficult for her to change herself. It’s still possible for her to do it, but it requires more effort and anything more significant than, say, changing her hair color is probably going to be out of the question unless she feels the circumstances are dire enough to require it.
