Does believing in an organized religion make someone a conformist? -

I think people like to refer to their online journals as Blogs because it sounds more professional, or grown-up, or masculine. It's as though writing in a LiveJournal makes your opinions less valid than the opinions of those registered with Blogger.
I just don't get it. Is it the name?
