Utter shit. I just finished Harry Potter about 4 hours ago (spent about 2-3 serious hours reading it, not including when I was half asleep, or pausing every paragraph to check on the baby I was watching). hm......... ok, i actually don't have much to comment about your comments. I can't exactly say I enjoyed the book completely. WHo the hell could enjoy that ending. But it made sense, and it was well-written. And unfortunately, the old formula always does seem to work: the best way to shock and throw off your readers(and most likely, ultimately keep them reading) is to kill off one of the most-loved characters.

When you make millions of dollars in licensing and you find that a certain actor has passed away in real life it makes more sense since it helps establish the movie continuity better. I personally don't think JK Rowling is a very good writer because she doesn't know that sometimes less is more, which is why her earlier books are much better reads.

I just finished OotP the other day...was complete crap for half the book, but got hella interesting at the end, especially with Dumbledore's speech thing at the end. :D Gonna start on HBP pretty soon here.
