Hey there! Yes, I've pretty much left LJ at this point, but still using for film/book tracking purposes. I hope you are well! Just checked out your journal, totally agree with you about The Hobbit! I saw it the first time - didn't love it, thought it was overly long, blah blah blah - then went back and saw it in IMAX and was all WHAT WAS I THINKING. Love it.
I'm already falling behind with my movie count for 2013. Only seen two films so far and both were re-watches. Oops. Been putting all my time into books, tbh! How is your job with Overdrive?
I'm really happy to hear you turned around on The Hobbit! It makes me sad that the film was universally panned because there is so much good in it. I like that Peter Jackson wants to expand upon Middle-earth, so I don't at all mind the trilogy aspect. Plus, I was super impressed with the high frame rate.
I'm making more of an effort with books this year. I hear you're the one who recommended Leviathan Wakes to Morgan, who in turn recommended it to zombie_boogie, whose comment thread I dive-bombed and said the book sounds like the best ever. (That sentence was grammatically terrible. I'm sorry.) I bought it this past weekend!
My job is great! I still love it. I have zero complaints, even after ten months. I feel hip and actively engaged in the publishing industry. :P
I was totally gonna rec you Leviathan Wakes because no question you will love it!!!! SO excited for you to read it!
Re: job. That sounds great, very happy for you. There was a point in high school where I thought after college I wanted to move to New York to be a book editor. Still sometimes think I would like to be involved in publishing because reading my passion, basically.
