I second what Anna said. Even people in the comms have mostly disappeared. There are so many social media outlets now. Not just twitter, tumblr and facebook but getglue, whosay, etc. It's really fragmented the fandoms.

OMG and I absolutely adore that video about why MTV doesn't play music videos anymore. Hilarious and also highly informative. It really makes sense. That doesn't mean I have to like what the channel has become in general.
Yeah, comms and lj used to be the only things around and it was so much easier to discuss all your shows and keep up with people. Sometimes it's difficult on tumblr because the formatting isn't really made for lengthy text posts and discussions.
