Plush-Making Tips!

A couple of people have asked me about making plush critters, I'm not an expert by any means but I can pass along some of the things I have learned that you might find helpful if you are wanting to make some of your own. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask :D

A few more tips:

Cutting fake fur is super easy if you use a box knife instead of scissors - it's great for getting just the backing and not accidentally trimming any of the hairs.

Finishing stuffed animals, you can use an animal clipper/hair clipper to shave down some of the fur around the feet, faces, and ears. Gets rid of extra "poof" and smooths out the look, so your carefully chosen shapes aren't lost in the fluff of the fur. (Great for the fronts of muzzles, so they don't all look like schnauzers)

thanks for these tips! Now if only I had some free time to try making some plushies. I think I just have to resign myself to making some bad ones at first before I get the hang of it, but I can't make myself take that step yet.

agreed, this was very useful! We all had to do sewing at school but somehow it never involved fur...
