sea patrol

Did anyone watch Sea Patrol, I felt a bit obligated to watch it as it was an Australian drama. But as we all know, Australian dramas tend to suck and fall into a soap opera thinly disguised as a drama aka All Saints and Mcleod's Daughters. Nothing wrong with soaps, I do watch Neighbours now and again, but I'd like to see a good drama for a change ( Read more... )

I felt obligated to watch it too. It wasn't that bad but it didn't blow me away either. But I will watch it again nextg week. It might get better.

Didn't watch it on the principle of the thing. Too much like border security for me. Plus not really interested in the Navy. Plus by makers of Water Rats and Blue Heelers... Yes, I'm biased.

I am a little interested in 7's City Homicide.

Yeah, I get where you are coming from. What is City Homicide about?

Drama series told through the eyes of four young detectives and their superiors. Set on the Homicide floor at police headquarters, the series features crime stories that are centered on murder cases and the characters that deal with them

The cast looks fabulous - Noni Hazelhurst, Shane Bourne, Nadine Garner, Aaron Pedersen.

I'm a little nervous about the creators, apparently they were involved with Water Rats, but they were also involved with Halifax fp and Murder Call, both of which I loved.

I'll give it a chance, just hope that it is more self contained episodes rather than a serial.

I watched it. If you could call sitting in the lounge room typing fanfic with it on in the background, watching.

It didn't interest me enough to make me look up too often which is sad :( I so want a good Australian drama. But it does have some good elements there, so I'll watch for a couple more weeks.

But why or why did they have to have some past romance between the Captain and Lisa McCune's character?? That's so done to death and says to me it's going to deginerate into a soap pretty quickly.

Yeah, I found that boring, but that's a trope they always use in dramas, so I usually tune it out.

If it gets too annoying, I'll probably stop watching, as it is, it's not looking good.

But I will try.

I thought the storyline was good but I wasnt too fussed on the character portrayals. Having been in the defence force (not the Navy, but I did spend a lot of time with navy folk) I thought they were all just too earnest and stiff. And, not that navy people are ugly, but I never saw one ship with so many good looking people on it!

Yeah well, I don't think everyone who works on the New York police force is that pretty as well, or in a hospital like in House, or in a farm in the country it's television people ;)

But, at least they look more realistic then the average American drama? Maybe.

My ex is in the Navy and he's absolutely gorgeous, so I have very little comparison ;)

I caught a little of it. Very dramatic. Reminded me more of Medevac than anything police-y. Granted, I didn't watch a lot of it ( ... )
