Enjoying new episodes

How many people here have managed to stay spoiler-free for shows like Dr Who, NCIS or Supernatural? Do you think that enhances the fun and suspense and is more like the show's creators intended it?

For the record, I have stayed spoiler-free for Dr Who but it has taken a lot of effort! :-)

Timely question given the MASSIVE cliffhanger on DW tonight, omg. I have stayed spoiler free for it too-- it really is hard. I defriended one person just because they were starting to use spoilery icons from this season.

For some reason DW is one of the only shows that I get REALLY annoyed if I get spoiled for.

Me too! Even more than Torchwood. Maybe it's something about childhood in my case. I remember getting so excited about having to wait for cliffhangers to be resolved when DW was on tv.

Through great effort I'm spoiler-free for Dr Who. I'm not so lucky for the others though *sigh*.

Sorry you got spoiled for other shows. That's a pain, especially if you've tried hard.

If I care, then I stay spoiler free. It does take some effort, but all my LJ peeps are the same, and I think it's TOTALLY worth it.

I was in the UK for this season of Dr Who as well as back in Oz for the airings here and I have to say the press has been a bit different - Davros wasn't talked about in the press but over here it's all been 'Davros is BACK' everywhere! Billie Piper being back scored more random newspaper articles, and at the beginning of the season with her 2 minute cameo in the first episode!

I try really hard to stay spoiler free, but usually only for Dr Who and Lost. The rest don't tend to bug me so much. However, I don't tend to read the papers or magazines or even spend time in the shops looking at them, so maybe it's harder for me to encounter spoilers. Or maybe it's just that I live in the country. The other thing is I think you have to be communicating with others that love these shows to even encounter spoilers. I watch Supernatural but I never read anything about it, or really talk about it with anyone. I think the danger of loving a show involves putting yourself in the way of spoilers, you want to read and find out things, but with that comes the danger that you'll see or read something you didn't want to know.

The thing that bugs me is a) Torchwood is played all out of synch here, so there are references in Dr Who which I'm assuming are spoilers for Torchwood, but Ch 10 will probably never ever show season two.
b) Why don't we get to see the Sarah Jane chronicles or what ever it's called ( ... )

I'd like to see The Sarah Jane Chronicles, too.

I'm not holding my breath waiting for Torchwood to return to commercial tv.
