EPIC FAIL (life lessons learned from a couple of icons)

Why is it that I always seem to forget the lessons I should have learned many years ago in high school?  They are simple things really, but when we forget about them we sometimes fall flat on our face.

LESSON #1:  ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS read the directions first.  This will save a lot of trouble in then end.  I thought I had read the directions, but looking back, I can't honestly say that I did.

LESSON #2:  Don't procrastinate!  I've always had a hard time with this one.  I was known in high school for frantically doing my homework in the class just before the class it was due.  I did get better at this in college...but not always.  Now I've slipped back into my old habits.  Now I've learned that if you don't procrastinate, you will have time to redo your project if you fail to read the directions closely the first time.

LESSON #3:  When you are working on a project, you should focus your attention on that project.  Otherwise you will fail at Lesson #1.

To make a long story short...you should not wait until the night before a stillness challenge deadline to work on your icons and then attempt to make icons while goofing off in two forums at once.  Because when you realize you did it all wrong to start with, it may be too late to fix it because it's 1 o'clock in the morning and all you really want to do is just go to bed.

I learned my lesson.

On the positive side though, I learned some new things that I will put to use in the NEXT challenge.  So I guess it was all worth it.  Oh, and here's the icons that I made.  I figured I should post them since I spent a lot of time on them.

Now you're probably thinking "why did she spend so much time on two little icons?" I was looking at tutorials and trying to learn some stuff in photoshop as I was doing them instead of BSing my way through it like I usually do (yet another thing I was pretty good at in high school).

So that's it. The story of my epic fail. Hopefully, I will remember these life lessons next week, but I doubt it.
