Resolved

I still haven't quite decided what to do about the FB resolution. I haven't checked it in days and I'm not finding that I'm missing it, except for the twitch whenever I go near the computer that makes me WANT to check it. It's that impulse I'm trying to thwart, so that when I DO go back, I do so responsibly and prudently. Once work begins will be ( Read more... )

I don't miss FB and I don't even miss all the other places I'm "on a break" from. I do miss having something to fill the spaces where I used to maniacally "just check" all those places.

I'm really glad to read your post for a lot of reasons.

Keep posting. :-)

So you're also on break from your blog? I just checked and saw you'd even removed the archive? What gives?

And can you not see my locked posts? I've been posting friendlist stuff like mad up here during the fall.

It's funny... yesterday I got this post from you and had a conversation with a friend about my FB break. She's never been a poster on FB, and we both realized how much FB seems to create this false intimacy, where you know a heck of a lot about some people and hardly anything about others. The whole forum has always bugged me, but I went with it because everyone else was and, well, because it was one way to keep up with random stuff from many of my friends. But yeah, if you were just reading FB, you wouldn't have had any real clue about what was going on with me last year.

Anyway, I hope you get back to blogging soon. I miss hearing what's up with you and the kiddos.

I'm not a serious runner - I get bored or run out of time too soon to ever run very far - but I bought some of the lightweight shoes last summer and I love them. I wore them on vacation because they were lighter to pack and I thought I might exercise (hah!). When I started running in them after getting home, I really liked how it felt to have less on my feet. Unfortunately, it didn't make my legs magically stronger.

I made a simple resolution to start keeping a food diary and only managed two days before falling asleep without doing it. Maybe I'll remember tonight.
