Christmas turkey?
So yes, this IS a bit late I know, but meh...
So, in case you weren't aware, I ended up having christmas lunch with the gf, her mum and kids, and Patty. Plus we had another visitor try and steal our food too...
It's wondering around the beach
It's spotted us
See those toes? The smallest one is bigger than my hand, so naturally you don't exactly want to get kicked by one of them...
After it had an attempt at our food I managed to shoo it away with a towel... So it meanders off to find some other family to get food from :P
So yeah... If you don't know what the hell it is, it's a baby Cassowary. Yes, baby, as in not even fully grown, they get about two or three times that size, if not more. they're the second largest bird in the world, the emu being the biggest. It's a female though seeing as how it's all brown instead of black, doesn't have a massive horn growing out of its head, and doesn't have pretty rainbow colours in places...
And just 'cause, here's a picture of the beach we were at
No idea who's kids those are though. Just some random ones that decided they wanted to play in the sand there I guess...
So, yeah. It just so happened to be perfect beach weather that day. Nice and warm but with an awesome breeze blowing enough to keep us cool and yet not strong enough to send sand flying everywhere. Yay beach ^_^
