I must have been feeling particularly ranty if I wrote something one sided classwise on accents. It does of course cut both ways. I mostly object to ideas being dismissed because of how they are presented so long as the meaning is clear.
Sorry for any confusion. "Shaw" in this context is the playwright, who I named in full earlier in the post. His view on accents and class was one-sided - essentially that poor accents will get you looked down on - but his solution - that poor people should therefore learn to speak properly - you'd have probably deplored.

Well I would ordinarily bow before a superior wordsmith but your right, us cheeky working class chappies should be allowed to speak how we wish !
