Right? She totally should come to the US and do a showing. Some of her pics in Shanghai are breathtaking. eta: I thought it was Shanghai but I am seeing more Beijing so maybe that was it.

Back when LJ was landing you on random other journals to foster some sort of wider-spread bonhomie or something, I found aorist on my reading list one day. I backstroked up his/her journal and was gobsmacked by the quality of the photos, and friended her/him on the spot. I've never even thanked him/her for letting me view the pictures--her/his lj is apparently entirely in Russian. I suspect a male eye behind the lens, but there's not really any way to tell. The subjects are more often landscape, building, skyline, or human in those contexts. There's no attempt to tell a story, as with the photographer you link to here. aorist rather shares moments that become transcendent seen through the lens.

I do enjoy experiencing vision from a viewpoint other than USian.
