But I'll be braver when you save me.

I've been home for over a week and I feel that I finally have enough material that I should update.

I've read two books now.

Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser
This is not the book I expected it to be. I thought that the information contained within would be more along the same lines as in Morgan Spurlock's documentary Supersize Me, but it was more about the rise of the fast food nation, about the people that work in the industry, and where out meat and potatoes are coming from. I'll admit, it almost makes me want to stop eating beef, but instead I think I am going to attempt to make the switch to free-range, grass-fed, cattle. It will be more expensive, but it will be a leaner meat, and a happier cow. Until they slit it's throat.

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Ok, so I'm not exactly done with this one, but I have but 34 pages left, and will probably finish it after I am done writing this. I am not in love with this piece of literature, but I am enjoying it. Maybe it is one of those that I will need to read again to love, like Animal Farm. Maybe the ending will blow it out of the water and it will become my favorite novel. Who knows.

I have an interview for a job. Too bad I will only be there for 3 weeks at most.

Amy and I saw Little Miss Sunshine. I was not as excited by it as most seems to be, but I do like it.

Tonight Amy, Rachel, Luke, and I saw Stranger Than Fiction and I think I am in love with it. It was just amazing. It was done so well, and Will Farrel did not annoy me in any way.

I find it interesting that there was so much buzz surrounding Little Miss Sunshine and it did not live up, but I heard bad things about Stranger Than Fiction, and I am astonished that anyone could have a bad word to say about it.

Last night Alexis and I went up to Columbus to see half of Oval Opus open for what ended up being a horrible band. OO was amazing though. It had been 4 months and 2 days since I had seen them, and I needed a fix. I find it odd that after all this time, and 12 shows, I still get nervous when they take the stage. Maybe it's just Josh that does it to me, but something there makes my stomach flip.

They were named as the winners of the "Sure It's Pop, But There Guys Sure Can Write a Catchy Tune" award in the year end CityBeat. I took a copy up and showed Josh. He hadn't seen it yet. That made my soul smile.

And I met another fan that I had seen at a few shows. That was cool.

And in case anyone is keeping tabs, Josh has not yet grown the beard back.

Tonight I ran into my cousins Carlos and Marty and their two sons. I seem to see them everywhere.

I also ran into Mark and Tim Krebs. That was really unexpected considering Mark lives in Oregon.

Tomorrow my mom and I are going to see the toy train exhibit downtown. I haven't been in probably 7 years. It will be cool. I love downtown.
