I currently live at Wildcreek Apartments and pay $529/mo. so I'm not sure the 599 they list on their site is up to date.

Define cheap. There are a couple of units in my building (close to 45th/Guadalupe) up for grabs. The 1BD units are $675, and the 2BD unit is $800. It's not cheap like outside the city center, but it's definitely the cheapest in the neighborhood.

The location is freakin' amazing (lots of buses, 3 grocery stores in walk/bike distance, super bike-friendly), and most of the people who live here have become friends (we threw a kickass NYE party).

It's a small, older building, so no pool or fancy amenities, but there's closet space, paid gas/water/trash, and gas stoves. The maintenance staff is on point, too.

Are there washer and dryer connections in the unit?

Not in the unit, no. There are two washers and two dryers (all coin-op) for the building.

I lived in an apartment with washer/dryer connections, it was something around $400 to $500 or something like that. It was for students only, though.
