I worked as an independent contractor with a local gym here in Austin for one month (March) and am having issues getting paid for my services (approx $600 total). For the last two weeks the owner has blatantly ignored me. Badger and pester the shit out of them. Seriously. Make it so they have to pay you to make them go away. Leave a poor yelp review explaining the situation. Leave a poor google review doing the same. Stop by the business every day.

You might want to send a demand letter. Check out a copy of "101 Law Forms for Personal Use" from the Austin Public Library, they have copies at several branches. The demand letter form is in the appendix (form 91), the book has suggestions as to what you should include.

My comment got marked as spam, so I'll just say to do a search for Texas Pay Day Law. They weren't able to help me, but that was more the owner of the company declaring bankruptcy versus anything payday law did.
