I was remembering the super tall slides I used to play on when I was a kid. I remember they were metal and some were just barely standing and they were so tall. The extra danger was also if you got on one in the summer. I think the heat and the metal and skidding down would equal 3rd degree burns

me too!
i remember that stuff - loving it so much. then occassionally when i have run across some, like the rusty metal jungle gym bars, i try and do the swing my leg over thing and spin, and my hands get all stuck and it pulls my skin and its not nearly the fun i recall. no, not fun at all.

Those merry go rounds were my favorite. They had even scarier stuff in France when I was little, like barrels you could run on, they had handrails on the side, but it was still so easy for the barrel to spin out of control, lots of scraped shins.
