was the Greek name of Ramesses II, THE pharaoh of Egypt. You know, the one from The Exodus, upon whom Moses called down the 10 plagues.
"Ramesses II" was Ozymandias's computer password in the movie.
it's also the name of a Shelley poem, from whence comes the lines
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
which, if you'll remember, were prominently displayed in Ozymandias's office and Antarctic retreat.
So, "Ozymandias" has a fair amount of dictionary cred.
