Around and About

Hello - I came across your comments whilst reading ajhalluk's journal, and decided to friend you, given your interest in Germany and so on.

Question for the masses: if no-one will employ people without experience, how exactly do you get it?

Before it appears as though I've no manners at all, welcome aboard! My apologies for my recent absence - I rather stupidly volunteered to provide an extra presentation for a history seminar I'm sitting in on as something of an expert. I'm not sure whether to laugh at the idea that I've got that much knowledge as an honours student, or depressed that what I know seems so broad to the class. You'd think someone doing an MA in Holocaust Studies and writing an essay on collective memory (due in three weeks) would have heard of Bitburg, or Willy Brandt's trip to the Warsaw Ghetto memorial, or the television series 'Holocaust', or have a vague idea that Adenauer wasn't particularly reflective about the past...

Anyway, I hope I manage to post something interesting at least some of the time!

Oh, that's quite alright - you do, after all, have an excellent excuse. As it is, I'm well aware that the life of the Honours Student is a busy one, and if you're taking on extra work - even if you love it - it rather precludes Livejournaling.
