You know those really, really simple shows you watch during the first couple weeks of a high school spanish class, when nobody knows how to say anything useful or interesting?

Did you ever go back and rewatch them at the end of the semester?

Oh, I do this with French, definitely. The awful clips and lessons and rulebooks are stupid enough when you first encounter them, but there's a certain wonderful nostalgia to the horror after the fact.

But see, we French students, we have a one up on all of this, because we have Eddie Izzard.

I stayed friends with my high school Spanish teacher, and when they had to get new teaching materials, she gave me all the old videos. I invited friends over and we had an amazing "AY PACO, DONDE ESTA MI DINERO?" time. What's even better, are when you go to Spain or France and attend English classes and watch the English videos. Oh man.
