I hate arguing with people like this. Even in person, because they move the goalposts every time they're losing.

Right?? That's absolutely the worst. Stop doing that. I once had a guy come up with different reasons as to why I'm Islamophobic because I asked him to clarify a meme he shared. In that case it became obvious he just had no idea what he was talking about, and I "cornered" him. I suspect this guy was similar, just ratting crap off.

Of course, this former friend of mine was (obviously) on the opposite political spectrum. And for the record, nothing I asked was Islamophobic. I don't think all Muslims are extremists. (There are extremists in every religion, political stance, world view, it goes on. If you know me, you should know I know that.) He shared some information I was unfamiliar with, and I asked what it meant because it was something I... hadn't known and wanted to better understand. That's all it was. *Rolls eyes*

They often have a talking point or two but no actual knowledge of what they're discussing so if they run into someone who has knowledge they have to change the subject or get really condescending or mean just to feel like they're still right

This is one of the reasons why I don't have Facebook, because you really get these kinds of people constantly shoving this in your face and then attempting to argue with anyone who disagrees with them. There is no point in reasoning with them, or having any kind of rational conversation that doesn't end with a headache.

That is definitely one of the many reasons I don't use Facebook a lot anymore.
