Do you have any channels you regularly watch on YouTube? & Do you listen to any podcasts?I tend to listen to YouTube videos while I work from home and do chores, more than watch, so I'm lumping them together. I go in cycles

Do you know of any Percy Jackson related podcasts?
I haven't really looked for a podcast on books in general but watched a lot of the reviews and more in-depth discussion vlog posts on youtube about The Hunger Games' prequel. There was some good stuff there. I especially appreciated the one by this woman who I think had a degree in political science and was dissecting the novel based on the quotes by Thomas Hobbs and John Locke in the preface and their rivaling philosophies on how humans ought to be governed. Anyway, she reviews a lot of books on her youtube channel which is called elenathegreat. Maybe worth checking out.
I like bekindrewind most of the time (though she is wrong when it comes to Luise Rainer), often some interesting bits about Hollywood cinema.
Yeah, I know Jimmy Snow as I follow Brenda Davies (God Is Grey), I mainly follow her podcast now though and not so much the youtube stuff anymore though there is still some overlap. With regard to some things, I often find myself agreeing with Jimmy Snow but I can't watch

Don't know about Percy Jackson. I'm not really a fan. I know, I know, for shame!
but I can't watch one more bizarre thing about Girl Defined, Mrs Midwest or Paul & Morgan anymore.
I do sort of wish he'd look at new territory. I don't really watch the Girl Defined stuff he does. More the other things. I also feel he's sometimes a bit too derisive of religion - I get that he had a bad experience, and I think it's good that he's really calling out the fundies (and I do believe that's his ultimate objective), but every so often it crosses a bit of a line. For me.
I like Fundie Fridays, but sometimes they're a little too intense with mentions of child abuse. Not a fault at all! Those things need to be exposed. I just get squeamish. I really liked their Christmas special series they did last holiday season.
I should listen to Brenda's podcast. :) I like Brenda's stuff.

I don't what his childhood/youth looked like precisely, I gathered from the collaborations he did with Brenda and with Jaclyn Glenn that he was brought up in some unhealthy Mormon setting so, I understand what made him turn away. (Also Mormons are not Christians btw - not that that makes it any more or less bad but there's this weirdly blurred imagine in the U.S. because of politics and voting.) As for being derisive - yeah, I mean, I can overlook that to some degree until Atheists make it their mission to call everything about my religion rubbish and tell me I shouldn't have one. I have a friend like that (here on LJ). It really grates on my nerves. I think it's live and let live.
calling out the fundiesLike I said, I could see his point up to a point but now it's just a bit stale, you know? Mainly because I'm not sure who is listening except for people who already think the same way he is thinking and well maybe the other side but not to be

Oooh could you share links re: the THG prequel? I finally finished reading that a few months back...what did you think? (I immediately wanted to reread THG, lol, and was bummed the movie is no longer on Netflix).
Did you ever read Animorphs or Goosebumps books? I have enjoyed Poparena's recaps of those. (Aside from a few things, like being overly harsh towards Cassie, that he later apologized for).
I have also been watching Princess Weakes' meta videos (MelinaPendulum). Her older stuff is more plain reactions to TV shows, discussing her favorite and least favorite ships, etc.
H Bomber Guy doesn't produce much, but he does have some fun videos (including an epic takedown of BBC's Sherlock and why it is such a terrible show).
Otherwise yeah Lindsay Ellis is kind of my go to.
I mostly just watch clips from Colbert and Daily Show when on YT though, these days, or listen to podcasts. Or now I have been listening to more books on tape since discovering I have access to all these free audiobooks on the Hoopla app through my library. I have now read more books on audio alone than I read during the entire last 3 years annually!
And ah, too bad! Animorphs actually holds up surprisingly well, outside of the earliest books in the series. It is one of those series that matured with its readers, and it explored some really mature and serious themes. (And, unlike HP, was actually a bloodbath in the finale, lol...it was fundamentally a war story).
I've not done a lot of YouTube viewing but I do enjoy Lindsay Ellis. She usually has interesting takes on things.
Oooo Buffy recap Podcast. That could be fun :)
I've listened a bit to the TeenCreeps book podcast. It's fully of spoilers but it's usually about YA books that are ones we read as teenagers so spoilers are fine.
