This is smart, re writing the query letter as you go. It's got to take some of the pressure off, regarding it, and keeps things real for you, too.

regarding the questions, I don't know, really. Instinct tells me that saying something like, "I've worked very well with independent and ebook publishers in the past..." but more as a "I can hold it together with producing work," sort of focus...but as I say, I don't really know, so it's a fwiw, sort of thing :)

The rule I've always heard is, if an editor has read your work and agreed to published it, mention it.

I also recommend Jodi's query project. She's good and really nice.

Evil Editor and Query Shark do query critiques, and are also very good, if blunt.

But one of the best references I've found is Nathan Bransford's blog.
