Tumblr: it tells me I have notifications, some of them not new posts presumably, but I get nothing else. And apparently others get "someone new is following you" posts, which I didn't get except in my email. For example: I was told I had 8 new notifications. 5 of them were new posts. Where are the other 3? Where can I see the new notifications

Personally I know it's just "me"...I don't spend nearly enough time on tumblr and I'm thinking one needs to be there A LOT to figure it out. I suspect it's not nearly as complicated as LJ, but it still takes some getting used to.

I don't really like it...yet. Far too impersonal. But then I thought that about LJ when I first arrived ;)

Umm... tumblr is idiosyncratic? Because I don't get all my notifications either.

You might have to change your settings. But sometimes Tumblr is like LJ and sends notifications late or not at all or tells you have have notifications or messages and you really don't.

But I would check your settings.

Go to www.tumblr.com/message (not inbox just type this out) and click on the thing on the side on the right that says settings. You'll see little check boxes and what not about asks and privacy and sharing etc.
