So, in reality the final seven contestants in Project Runway show at Fashion Week, though only three are shown on the show. I've seen the seven shows and gathered a few of my favorites of each.
First up are the three who actually made it there on the show:
Emilio
I adore this dress and think it is to die for. BUT this was the only outfit of his that I saved to comment on later. While this is a beautiful dress and I enjoyed his work on the show, his final collection wasn't as good as I expected.
Seth Aaron:
I love this jacket. The tailoring is amazing and the belt is a perfect touch.
This is probably the only time I will comment on a model who isn't their "muse model" so bare with me. Please ignore the manly face of the model and focus on this dress. While I don't love this look as much as the jacket, I really want to wear this dress to a nice event. It's pretty, looks so simple yet isn't because it's all the same fabric.
Overall, I liked Seth Aaron's collection but worry about some of his stuff being compared to a previous Project Runway winner.
Mila:
I don't know if I can explain how much I love the two looks I selected from Mila's final collection. This shirt, the sweater, the pants are all amazingly tailored and gorgeous. I actually don't even mind the entire collection being black and white [for the most part].
Now, I understand Kors remark about how Mila's line is "retro," though I don't think that's a bad thing. I desperately want this outfit. The little trim on the bottom is genuis.
Overall, her clothes were well made and definitely her. You could see many similarities in what she showed during the show and her final collection.
And now for the people who didn't quite make it.
Starting with one who almost did, Jay:
This is one of his three looks Jay selected to show the judged. While the response was mixed to this jacket, I like it to some extent. But what I adore, as did the judges, are the leggings he made.
The tailoring of all his clothes are great in his final collection. These pants are gorgeous and the vest makes me melt. I'm a sucker for a great vest.
This skirt. I love this skirt. I want to wear it. The top, however, is lacking. Jay's use of the styling shown at the shoulders here became a little gimicky throughout his show.
Overall, though, not terrible.
Jonathan:
It's not secret that Jonathan's model was my favorite of the entire season. However, it's more than her that makes me post this photo. I like this dress, a lot. I like the simply cut paired with the large white top.
The top half of this look I adore. I'm unsure if the bottom half is pants or a skirt. I want them to be loose pants.
Overall, Jonathan's show was less than stellar but, again, not terrible.
Onto quite possibly my favorite show of all seven, Anthony's:
This dress. This dress is gorgeous and flawless. I love the material, the hints of pureple. Everything.
Most of Anthony's line was dressed, but I honestly didn't mind one bit because that's what Anthony loves to do: beautiful dresses. And he's good at his too. I like the material of this dress, the see-through fabric, but how the dress itself isn't see-through or slutty at all.
It's no secret that Anthony really loves working with purple and black, both of which happen to be in my top three favorite colors [along with teal]. This dress, a throwback to his winning blue dress earlier, is gorgous. I love the structure and color of it. Also, those shoes he chose are killer.
Overall, I loved his final collection and was sad when I realized that most Project Runway fans may never see it.
And now for my least favorite: Janeane:
The fit of her collection left something to be desired, as did many of the designs. However, these shorts I quite like overall. Her clothes were often unflattering in the way they hung off the models and the colors were a bit drab.
