I ruptured my left eardrum a couple of times as a kid, so I can confirm that it will grow back if the rupture is small enough. I'd wait for a couple of days and see if it improves.
You should really consider seeing a doctor though. My brother ruptured his when he was 17-ish (smacking into someone's back at a hardcore show), and the rupture was big enough that they had to sew a kevlar patch in to get it stable.
Well, there has already been improvements since the last post. I'm gonna give it until Monday. If there is still signs of loss I think I might schedule one. Damn, there goes the g4. Weak.
Mine healed up okay, although the hearing in my left ear is still different from the right. Maybe 10% less in the high frequencies. I don't think it helps that I use(d) that ear for years to cue records.
From what I read last night, the absence of high frequency is a bit worse than the absence of low. Loss in high frequency is almost a sure indicator of rupture. Low frequency, however, means that it will *supposedly* heal on it it's own fine...Just what I read.
