I would assume that the 1.125-page guy just needed to send more applications in order to keep collecting Unemployment and not bother replying.

What?! You don't have an airport that needs managing? I thought you were a Big Deal! I AM DISAPPOINT.

Anyway, I'm with E... sounds like the first guy's only sending out resumes to keep collecting unemployment, and thus has no motivation to do better. Waste of time for everyone involved!

The second guy is just plain careless.

You know where I stand on this- if they don't care enough to do this (relatively minor) initial task carefully, what makes you think they'll do the rest of it well?

Reading resumes makes me *facepalm* a lot. Alot, even.

I might think so too were he not a 22 year old very recent college grad who probably doesn't qualify for unemployment... at least not in this industry.

He *does* show as currently self employed as a freelancer. I wonder if that would get in the way.

In any case, meh. I suppose he doesn't really merit any advice. He's one of the people that helps set the Average Bar for the rest of his peers to hop over. Reminds me of this:

I concur. You owe nothing to somebody who doesn't exert any kind of appreciable effort to begin with.

I might, however, be tempted to mark it all up in the manner of an English paper and return it with a giant bright red "F" atop.

Anybody that puts an objective on their resume or references automatically gets a strike or two.

Objectives are good for lower level employees. Mid to higher, it looks sort of silly.

Yeah, for this kind of job then putting an objective is considered good form. I have also noticed that this sort of stuff is industry based as well.

Did I mention that my industry is aviation? Because I'm a pilot, you know. I don't think I brought that up before...

I was wondering what you did for a living.

I mean besides fighting crime by night as a costumed hero.

one of the luxuries of being a hiring manager is that YOU DONT HAVE TO RESPOND AT ALL
