I just lost 80 gigabytes of data. That includes about 80% of my music collection, my favorite Sealab 2021 episodes, and a whole lot of my personal history in emails, poems, various documents. Most of my best writing... gone

I've lost significant amounts of data before (among other things) that were very important to me. But ultimately, it's just stuff... stuff you probably needed to purge anyway. You know... fresh starts, blank slates, blahblahfuckingblah.

You can waste precious time backpeddling to replace the past but you'd only be re-writing history. The only thing that matters now is this moment.
