I think Voltaire's Candide could count as an anti-war book, from what I remember of it.

Yeah, but Voltaire was French. He's the reason we have Freedom Fries now, so he doesn't count. :p

Totally unrelated, I've been cleaning out my room and keep coming across pieces of our relationship scattered everywhere. Finally, they're going into their own little box.

Heh, I still have all my pieces too. Meanwhile, I had a dream last night that you and I were somehow crowned Emperor and Empress of the world via the internet, and we were really excited and overwhelmed, and then almost immediately afterward we realized it was a hoax and were very confused and disappointed.

Oh, also, Michael and I think that you'll look like Tom Petty when you're old: http://wwwimage.showbuzz.cbsnews.com/images/2008/02/04/image3784771.jpg (ignore the giant lens flares in the pic)

...well, that is the nature of the internet.

hey, i cut my hair!
great, so i look like marilyn manson as a kid, and tom petty as an old man. but i guess that doesn't say much about the progression of my musical taste - i listened to both manson and petty when i was about 14, and now i listen to neither. (i think the only reason i listened to petty was because i really liked that alice in wonderland video)

...wait-- i just realized i DO listen to tom petty now! but it's tom petty IN the traveling wilburys that i listen to. the traveling wilburys are so great.

Sounds good.

If I'm lucky, then my school's chorus (Camerata) will be able to participate in a festival hosted in Prague. (We're aiming for next spring.)

this?
or this?
there's also an opera festival in the summer. if you ever want to escape america's lack of interest in music from centuries past, central europe is the place to be. (wait, why am i telling you this, you've been to germany i don't know how many times...) are you still interested in heading out there for voice training or something?
