musings before bed

When I was 14 years old, my heart broke over Jo March's rejection of Teddy Laurence's proposal.  Eleven years later, I realized Laurie was pathetic - all unrequited love are. But the ache is still there, considerably dulled by years.

True, with age comes wisdom, but we are none the wiser when it comes to matters of the heart.

When I read it the first time, I felt bad for Laurie, hate for her professor husband, and hate for Amy (little bitch). This was my One True Pairing dammit!

And then about a decade later, I was actually relieved she turned him down.

I think I still am.
