OK honestly, a lot of nasheeds are bleh. It's hard to make it sound nice without music. I think Zain Bhikha is one of the people who actually make really nice ones!
That might just be the music fan in you talking, 'cause I know I don't like most music to begin with (no idea why, but music physically puts me in pain; it has for years and I can't fathom why o_O;) and love a lot of anasheed.
... English ones usually fail hardcore, though, you're right about that.
And singing acappela is difficult because it requires talent!
Any pretty, but talentless dummy can wail her or his guts outs and have techies do the work of making it sound better, or drown it out with music until you actually think it sounds good. xD

English nasheeds are just... I don't know. Something just goes wrong.
The second one he didn't actually sing (well he is humming in the back lol) but he wrote it! Love it still though...
