Last night my beloved faeryshaman  and I, accompanied by the fabulous ladyfuchsia, went to see Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream" performed outdoors at twilight in the Royal Botanical Gardens.

It was a relatively small production, but was great- hilarious and quite bawdy, as Shakespeare was intended to be.  The actor playing Puck was fabulous at bodily capturing ( Read more... )

It's my beloved's favorite as well. I've seen the recent one you mention and really liked it, though I'm not familiar with the old B&W one with Mickey Rooney. I'll have to look that one up- thanks for mentioning it!

Sounds like an awesome evening! I love when theater is done well & especially when Shakespeare is taken to creative terrain.
