Corn syrup diluting your honey, soybean oil colored to masquerade as olive oil- do you really know what you are eating?

One more reason I hesitate to move back to the US. Their food policy laws make me wonder if they're trying to kill off and/or drug the citizenry. When I'm feeling cynical.

Probably.
I remember that when I was growing up, my mother was seen as "unusual" because she refused to buy heavily processed foods and preferred all natural meals. No matter where you went, there was high fructose corn syrup, aspartame, too much sodium, bleached flour. High fructose corn syrup in whole wheat bread!

My country's issues with food policy laws is insane. It's like, as long as the food keeps you alive, who cares if it's loaded with artificial ingredients, right? I won't even feed my cats the cat food sold in standard grocery stores, because most of those foods contain meat by-products, fillers, and food dyes.

I love my country, but I don't love what's happened to the food.
