I have a hard time following all the various Express, Federation, Pacts, etc. In theory I really like the idea of the Tea Party - independents who want to challenge the government - sounds like pure democracy to me! One of my good friends is involved in her local tea party so it's interesting to hear her side of things. They are VERY careful to crowd out the assholes.

So, maybe it works on small local levels? I don't know. It's always the loudest jackasses that make the most news. But I've thought for a long time that the teaparty people need to get more organized and get some PR if they're serious about countering the racists and jackasses in the 'fringe'. Otherwise they will continue to be a distraction and laughingstock -and well they should be if they're going to let crazy people get all the press.

There may be decent individuals, and maybe even decent small local groups, associated with this movement. However, as a whole the movement was born of the anger and hatred the far right felt following the Obama's election, grew through the inflative propaganda machine that is Fox "news", and has repeatedly shown it's colors through the hate-filled racist words and actions of it's adherents in numerous protests and media manifestations
