Gwinn Estate

The following photographs are a selection from a series I did in 2002, of the Gwinn Estate. The Gwinn Estate is the former home of William G. Mather, a famous wealthy American industrialist. He had this mansion built just outside of Cleveland, surrounded by gardens inspired by Italian design.

Thank you so much!! I can't believe it's been this long since the series was done. Now, sadly, a filthy rich (from an inheritance) couple in their 20's bought the estate. Apparently, they kept most of the original look and layout intact, though. Still, no one can ever go back there to visit :'-(

Thank you! I consider this one of my true, authentic works of photographic art. This was my Advanced Photography project in college and it's all 35mm black & white film, old-fashioned darkroom processing and printing. I really miss those days!
