More with the vampire movies. I wonder if I'll still like them when I get to more contemporary films. This is another silent black and white movie. I liked Nosferatu better. The plot of Vampyr was rather lacking, and the movie wasn't as scary. Still, it was interesting to see another interpretation of the same theme ( Read more... )

You know, I'd never connected this before (I don't really know scary/horror movies, even the classics), but when Giles meets Buffy, the very first thing he does is slam that enormous leather-bound "VAMPYR" book on the desk...

Have you ever seen the movie Shadow of the Vampire? It's a retelling of the director who made Nosferatu, I belive. OR something like that. :)

I have. It's a pretty fun film, actually, if you've seen Nosferatu. There is a review for it somewhere in my archives.
