Oh, how I relish those debates, ever familiar yet always evolving.

So, are you saying that I would side with or against Chomsky? I'm not at all familiar with Foucault or the nature of his debate with good-ol' Noam, but I think that I am as polarized in my opinion of Chompsky as you seem to be with the other bloke: I love his politics but find his cognitive science highly frustrating to say the least. Not that he hasn't made an incredible contribution to the field, but he fell into disagreement with biological understanding decades ago, and is quite steadfast in his adherence to his own, peculiar mythology of the minds origins, nature, and destiny.

I suspect, though, that you are actually making a subtler comparison than I have been able to detect...
