Well, congratulations to me. I landed a full time job - 9-5 with benefits. I start Wednesday. I'm going in for my drug test today. They're going to be making me work most Saturdays - but at least it's overtime. I have NO IDEA what we're going to do with Amber for school vacations. As soon as we build up enough money, we're going to need a ( Read more... )

I will be taking large rolls of labels, making them into smaller rolls of labels, putting them in a box, labeling them, and shipping them out. I will be doing this for 8.5 hours a day, 5.5 days a week.

Holy banality Batman! Still, maybe once you get used to it you will be able to let your mind wander a bit into flights of fantasy, so it won't be all that bad. Just watch out for those repetetive strain injuries. And benefits do rock. Congratulations!

I'm pretty sure we could watch Amber for a day if we plan it in advance... after all Yamgirl does enjoy seeing her. If she and you guys would be willing, of course. Just keep us in mind if you want to call someone to work something like that out.

Good luck with the new job!

Thanks so much! Yes, it does look banal. Indeed, it appeared as though the other workers had already had the souls sucked out of them. I only hope I do a good job. If I can't do this right, there's something wrong with me. As far as watching Em, thank you for the offer, but due to recent events, Tim and I won't be having our friends providing regular childcare for us. It's not that we don't trust you. We're just not taking any chances. Plus, much like being room-mates with friends, it tends to put a strain on the friendship.

I hope I can still go. Maybe they'll be nice and not make me work the first Saturday. I have to say I'm really not keen on the mandatory overtime. I enjoy having SOME time with my family.
