You are a crackpot, kids need social interaction, like being stuck in lockers....it builds character. I remember sticking several kids on coat-hooks in my school, they are millionaires today, while I sit in my car using McDonald's Wi-fi and planning out my business day. Children need to be subjected to the wrath of their peers, so they know not to stand up to the big dog. without that simple lesson, they lose sight of their place in life. Feel secure that she doesn't need to wear a helmet everyday.
Public school = LABOR CASTE, welcome to the real world.
Exactly, and I want better for my girl. I can't afford to send her to private school but I can damn well make sure she goes to college - somehow. And I can make certain she actually learns something either way. While learning how to escape from the inside of a locker IS a valuable skill.... I think we can do better.
That was more or less my point, forgive me if my dripping sarcasm did not make it across. Best of luck to your family in these hard times, and good choice!
I have 3 sets of new neighbors on my block. (bringing the total number of kids on the block up from 2 to now 16!!!!!!!) 2 of the families are homeschooling. Go for it, guys! That's a great plan. Your little lady is very smart. As long as you be sure to get her interaction with peers during sports or such (that the school district can arrange time for), then I have your back. And I hereby extend an offer for a dinner get-together for our families. Miss you.
Yeah hon we'll have to get together now that we're not two hours away. It's been crazy busy here and my Dad seems to use our living here as an excuse to go out to every local event that comes up because now he has someone to go with....
but I'm sure we can figure out a good time to hang out.
