i don't really have sympathy for a girl getting drunk and passing out at a large party where she is basically anonymous and getting raped.. i'm not saying anyone deserves to be raped, i'm just saying, what did she think was going to happen when she passed out with a bunch of strangers?
i guess it's because i'm not trusting and i try to stay safe with everything i do, but i just can't feel bad for someone when they put themselves in a situation where something like that can happen to them. but women getting raped in their own homes, walking to their cars, while jogging, or while doing any activity where they did not put themselves right in harm's way INFURIATES me.

rape is a reality. and that needs to change.
but in the meantime, yes, we do need to be careful, and that's a sad fact.
but we also need to reverse centuries of the shame being put on the victim, and we need to educate boys and men how to fucking behave.
