And I'm home... and this is the break down of why my life is hectic: ^^
People, do not, I repeat, DO NOT even attempt to pack up an entire life in one day, beacuse it just does not work! Haaa... I just got back form a trip from my hometown. We spent three days packing everything for The Move, and it wasn't even half. We just needed the "essentials" for us to be able to move nto our new apartment, but really, if one is told to pack up an entire house you've lived in for fifteen years, doesn't everything seem "essential" most especially since you don't have time to sort? Anyway, I'm back, and it's half after one AM, since I am very awake after my first eight hour sleep after over a week.
We packed the refrigerator, the washing machine, the gas range, mattresses, cups, drinking glasses, plates, the television, the dvd player, a LOT of clothes... what else? Anyhoo, we got to 37 boxes (of varying sizes) in the end. Again, that's not even half. We still have the beds, the living room furniture, the dining set, the books, the files, the rest of the clothes, my old drawings, and so on and on and on. It astounds me though, to realize that we lived in that place for fifteen years! That's about three quarters of my life. It's strange to think that I won't be able to go back there as often anymore. There wouldn't be any real reason to, since there isn't going to be Home to come home to anymore. It really does feel... weird.
The people at the office were very nice when I called to tell them that I could come in for First Day on Friday. They told me to just come in Monday so that it wouldn't be... awkward? That's not the word I'm looking for, but what the hey. Anyhow, I still need to get a few papers straight before I could go in, which is a great excuse for not helping in The Move until the week end. :insert devious cackle here: I hope to God that the things I need to take of don't take too long. My aunt said it's only supposed to take a few minutes each, so basically I have to travel and line up for hours perhaps, and stay at a window for a mere five minutes. Ain't life grand? Ah well, as long as I get it done and I can work. It's a well-known Architectural Firm so I'm hoping to learn a lot, and earn a lot eventually, too. Hope my new bosses will be okay...
On other news, I just saw my first banner for winning Week # 60 of
dn_contest ! Lookie-lookie! It's soooo pretty... By coincidence,
marshmellooo used one of my most favorite pcs of L&Light. Heehee Yes, I'm a happy girl!
I wasn't able to write anything for Week # 61 since I got shipped off to my hometown to help pack things up, but it was lucky that this week's prompt was 'sleep' and I already had a typed up fic in the back burner. Anyhow, time to go to FF for some much needed fic-reading! Being deprived for over three days gives me withdrawal symptoms... ^^
