summary : Who exactly is Naruto? Here's what his friends and acquaintances have to say.
Disclaimer : I do not own Naruto. That privilege belongs to Kishimoto-sensei.
Konohamaru -- Smile like you mean it.
Hinata had a really gentle soft smile.
Ino tried for her seductive, come-hither smile.
Kiba had a large sharp, toothy grin.
Moegi had a bright grin that dimpled her right cheek.
Grandfather had a really old soft warm smile.
Ero-sennin as Boss calls him has a really lecherous smile.
And Boss…he's always smiling that large bright eye-closing smile…but I don't think that's his smile.
Kakashi -- Genjutsu
As a test of skill, I had all my darling students locked in a genjutsu to test mental capabilities and resistance and knowledge of genjutsu. It was a brand that I had fiddled with and created with the assistance of Ibiki and Inoichi. The first two munchkins had rather normal reactions and soon after application had removed the illusion with no problem. However, the last…I don't think he'd have wanted to leave it. To this day I never asked him what caused him to cry so silently as the tears fell rapidly down his scarred face and shudders racked his body. When asked why not…I say it's not my business…but really, I don't think I want to know what caused my nearly twelve year old student to cry like a wounded.
Tsunade -- Poison
When I returned to Konoha, one of the first thing I did was to enter the treatment I did on that little gaki on the road after the battle with Orochimaru. It was standard procedure really to detail any treatment done on roadside to our ninja as any complications that may pop up are then easily referenced. But what shocked me was the thickness of his folder simply from documenting the occurrences of poisoning, with the first documentation when he was just a few months old and strychnine was found laced into his bottle. Since then there have been over at least twenty different poisons and chemicals found in his body, only series of tallies next to each poison telling just how many brushes of death he had.
Hinata -- Box of Chocolates
The first time I dared to give Naruto chocolates for Valentines, I left it outside of his door, too shy to hand it to him in class. I didn't leave though. I hid in the stairwell closest to his room and waited. My heart had leapt to my throat when the door finally opened and hope probably shone from my eyes. But what happened next I never understood until several years later. The door opened and Naruto looked out and found the box. He never touched it but simply stomped all over the chocolates until the delicate box broke and the chocolates smeared all over the concrete hallway floors. Tears had burned though my eyes and I fled the building. Some years later, I overheard the reason why he never ate anything he didn't see made in front of him and understood. Now anything I give to him, I ask him over and have him sitting in the kitchen waiting for it to finish.
Sakura -- Three's company.
When our team was first created I hated the fact that it was a three-man cell and that Naruto was part of my team. I had thought he would be useless and only in the way. But as our team continued, I noticed how much better he was doing and actually was compared to the Academy. But still I had thought, two's company and three's a crowd, and tried to get him to leave me and Sasuke alone.
And then Sasuke left. And then there were two.
And then Naruto left…and I was alone. But he came back.
Now I'm glad that our team is composed of three people. We may not be the same team as before and our dynamics are slightly different. But I'm really glad Naruto is there; he's what keeps us sane in this time. Now I think that two isn't enough and that three is company enough.
Ino -- Roses
Since I first started to help out at the family flower shop, I started to learn the language of flowers . I've seen people come in with just an idea of what they want to convey and some that don't. I've seen people order flowers of all kinds: poppies, carnations, daffodils, sunflowers, hibiscus, lavender, and even roses of all colors. I've watched all my friends and their loved ones come in at some point or another to order flowers and I've seen them all receive flowers, especially roses from their secret admirer or lover or significant other. But the one person I've never seen receive any came to me the other day and asked me what exactly black roses meant. I looked at his bright eyes that had that shadowed depth and knew that he knew but wanted to be confirmed anyways. So I told him. He smiled at me and left. The next day I personally knocked on his door and gave him different roses, this time they were shades of pink, red, and yellow: gratitude, grace, joy, happiness, and love. I don't think I've ever seen his eyes that bright or that grin so large.
