Glass Offices and Lab Directors
When he had first taken the job as lab director, Mac had never thought he’d get used to having a glass office. Leaving the blinds open felt too exposed; leaving them closed felt too standoffish. For the first few weeks, he’d felt more like a zoo exhibit than a detective. He’d made the mistake once of letting that slip to Stella.
The next morning found a handwritten sign on his door that read, ‘Please do not feed the administrators.’
The next week found Stella on trash duty for at least four crime scenes.
Mac had felt somewhat better after that.
